Here is why............
It is made in America for
American voltage. That is important because all other AC welders
are made off shore for a different power grid. (480 volt 50 cycle) and
tend to overheat when
underpowered.
Don't be tempted by a cheap price and reduced features
and including performance.
There are some look a-likes on the market and one actually made by Pro
Spot ...BUT
they are not an i4.
i4 is upgradeable with a simple chip
exchange. i4 is water cooled. i4 has thousands of OEM
spec files on board for exact weld recipes section by section. i4 is
supported fully, other brands
and colors are not.
It is simple logic, if the best welder
in the world is only a couple thousand dollars more and remains
completely upgradeable forward why not spend the extra money. Remember
when you bought that cheap suit? Why make the same mistake again?

The i4 technology is
revolutionary compared to others in the industry. It not
only measures, monitors and automatically adjusts the
weld current, it does it on the secondary loop at the
tips. By measuring the current on the secondary side of
the transformer it leaves no guess work whatsoever. It
samples the weld 650 times per cycle or ONE million
times per second using the same technology used in the
space shuttle and in most satellites. The AD converter
(Analog to Digital) is extremely powerful and allows the
i4 to deliver the exact weld current that is set by the
operator regardless of outside circumstances such as low
voltage supply, large weld nuggets, dirt tips etc.
It also features
adjustable upslope and down slope. Upslope ramps up the
current to assure for a smooth current draw and less
demand from primary current. The smoother initiation of
the weld also decreases the chance of sparking.

| The two sided
weld program features four main weld modes: Single Weld,
Dual Weld, Pulse Mode and Wave Mode. Upslope and
Downslope of the weld current are automatically applied.
With the Dual Weld Mode, current / time can change
within the weld. Example: for the first 10 milliseconds
a lower weld current is applied, then after a
programmable pause, a higher weld current is applied for
8 milliseconds. The first pulse pre-heats the area,
softening the metal, so when the second - higher pulse
is applied, it recognizes the change in resistance as it
applies the current. At that precise moment, the applied
squeeze pressure can easily fuse the metals into a weld
nugget. This feature is often used by OEM welders when
welding Boron Steel, which is extremely hard. |
The i4
features an on-board training program which is easily
accessible by using the large monitor on the front panel
where images and instructions are displayed. The i4 is
equipped with an OEM programmable feature which is
capable of providing the user with detailed instructions
and weld specifications provided by the OEM's as they
become available. |
Questions? No
problem. In any weld screen, just push the 'HELP /
INSTRUCTION' button. The on-board instructions will
guide you in the language of choice. By using Flash Card
technology the software can be easily upgraded as new
data becomes available. The expansion capability is
enormous and practically endless. |
