OEM Approved Waterborne
Finish
Date: January, 2007
Recently you may
have seen industry announcements about some competitive waterborne
systems that have just received OEM approvals.
Since these
announcements have lead to some confusion about the status of 90 Line we
would like to let everyone know that our award winning 90 Line
waterborne system has had OEM approvals since it was introduced to the
North American market – in 1993.
OEM approvals in the 1990’s include Mercedes Benz,
BMW, General Motors, Porsche, VW, and Audi – among others. Ford and
DaimlerChrylser also approved 90 Line in the early 2000’s in their
inaugural years of low VOC approvals.
The fact that ultra-luxury cars such as the Maybach
and Rolls Royce are hand sprayed at the plant with 90 Line is a
testament to the confidence that automotive manufacturers have in 90
Line. Only Glasurit can make this claim.
In fact,
BASF has over 30 years commercial waterborne experience. This extensive
experience with waterborne technology is one of the key reasons that we
were able to develop a top-performing coatings solution for the
Refinish Market. 90 Line is a waterborne system that has proven to be a
consistent performer over its many years in the market. It
is part of the reason why collision repair professionals overwhelmingly
prefer 90 Line over any other waterborne basecoat.
Other
reasons why body shops like 90 Line relate to its ease of application,
eco-friendly properties, low material consumption, fast drying formulas,
better hiding, and easier blending. Plus, 90 Line continues the Glasurit®
tradition of on-target color matching, OEM approvals, and a high quality
world-class finish.
BASF and WESCO are ready to help body
shops transition to high-quality coatings that meet future legislative
requirements in our area. That’s why any body shop thinking about
converting to waterborne coatings should consider 90 Line and its
unparalleled quality.
